The sellers are not the stupid ones, it's the buyers. I sell new boxes of pennies on eBay a lot and they sell really well for $40-$50. I make a lot of money on them. I wouldn't say that is stupid of me...

There are unsearched rolls in every city and village in the United states. You find them by offering to roll and buy the change jars of older people. Some of those coins have sat gathering dust for decades. As long as you pay melt for the silver coins no one will accuse you of robbing grandma. A bonus paid out for semi-keys and key dates found later is also in order and gains you word of mouth advertising for your "service".

I certainly didn't mean to be rude towards you or any other people. It's just that I don't feel like it is really too fair because the seller is making $10-20 profit by just driving to the bank to pick up boxes and then sell them. The buyer might get something good, but they probably won't. Again, I'm sorry if I offended you.

Thanks for the info. I haven't put anything on ebay for many years now. Used to sell quite a few things the first few years when they first got big. Made some great buys too. Like a 7" ivory carving for $5, and an antique Australian Throwing Stick for $6. Now I mostly sell on craigslist, armslist, and gunbroker. But then again I'm not selling coins there. Mostly to the point of getting rid of a life's worth of misc. like racing engines, guns, mountain cabin.....
I just enjoy the coins and will probably pass on to the younger generation. The Ancients will stay for sure, and there is a sack of "Gaweas" put aside for my granddaughter who really likes them.

There are rolls of unsearched coins as I have quite a few that have never been looked at as well as some proof sets. I inherited them from my father who had quite a few unsearched rolls lmc and Jefferson nickels. I’ve had about 15 yrs and preferred to remember them as he left them. I figured he had a reason for not searching thru them and wanted them to be passed from me to my grandkids. Every time I look and see the rolls I get a great big smile on my face. Funny thing is I also see my dad looking down with a big smile on his face trying to figure out why I haven’t busted them out and see what’s in there, haha.
