Hi there, I just found this1943 D Copper wheat cent on ebay do you think it is real or fake?? I think it is fake. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1943-D-Cop...206405?hash=item3b18be78c5:g:j~oAAOSwKltbddjK
@rickmp beat me to it. With the slab craziness that exists today, why would a coin worth five figures not be in a slab?
Thanks, But here is a 1944 steelie I doubt that it is real to. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1944-steel...162703?hash=item2f1ffd638f:g:BK8AAOSwiq9bb9Nb
From the item specifics... This penny is sold as fantasy 1943 D wheat penny. It is non-magnetic weighing 3.11 oz. It is copper/bronze in color. Sold with no guarantee to be authentic. What you thinkin' now?
Right in the ad it says "This penny is sold as fantasy 1943 D wheat penny. It is non-magnetic weighing 3.11 oz. It is copper/bronze in color. Sold with no guarantee to be authentic." Does that answer your question?
Someone would have to be really stupid to bid on this. Only a picture of the back, which means it's probably a '43, and no returns with a starting bid of $500. As BooksB4Coins said, "A fool and his money..."
We would probably be amazed at how many people do not read the details in an offering. But even a fantasy piece starting at $500.00?
