Not sure what this is...

    Clearing my grandfather’s house at the moment, and found this in amongst other coins.

    It weighs 15g and is about 5/6 mm thick.

    Anyone know what it is please?

    Looks Indian, but otherwise I have no idea

    Definitely one of the Indian states; narrowing it down, however, could take a while. On your first photo, if you rotate 180 degrees, there is a trident in the middle, which is a symbol associated with the Hindu god Shiva.

    Thank you - I thought it might be an old version of a Widow’s Mite - but this is a new angle

    Looks like a Paisa of the Maratha confederation, around 1800AD.
