What is a fair price for a Morgan repousse/"pop out" coin?

Too bad we didn't go to school together. I could have done your chemistry and you could have saved me in English.

  3. What a wonderful thought to share & contemplate… but I think my principal problem with chemistry in the mid-1960s was my focus on my personal chemistry with persons of the opposite sex rather than focusing on the Periodic Table. Youth is wasted on the young!

Am I the only one that thinks these are kind of creepy?

  5. What you talkin' about, Willis? The pop-coins are creepy? What's creepy about them?

It looks like 90's era special effects in a movie for a demon possessed coin.

They are still being made and I've seen a kennedy half with a kennedy head pop up recently. Don't know what the seller wanted for it. It was priced MAKE OFFER.

  9. @Gregg. Try thinking of Miss Liberty in the context of the period in which these "pop-coins" first appeared, i.e., the turn of the 20th century. In that context, these "animations" of the Barber & Morgan designs fit quite well with the strong Art Nouveau influences of that period. I've always found them quite beautiful; even fifty-five or sixty years ago when I first saw them.
What I found somewhat strange, if not morbid, was the "Our Martyred Presidents" three coin (dime–$¼–$½) fobs when I first acquired one of that type in the 70s.

There is an individual, Oded Paz, who knew Robert Stump for many years. Oded is/was? an active member of CoinTalk and has a better knowledge of Mr. Stumps' background than I. I purchased my catalog through him because he was the exclusive distributor of the guide and helped put it together. I'm sure he would be glad to answer any questions you may have.

I don't even know what they are. Who save these things. Oh

If it has a patent bar, it is easily worth double that, and is an old original. You have to be careful because these are still being made, but some, from China, aren't even real Morgan Dollars.

Nyatii I like running w/scissors. Makes me feel dangerous

My grandfather looked at it quite differently. It was the reminder of a war. One in which he was able to survive and fought to bring victory. When he looked at it he saw lady liberty. Maybe you had to be there.
