I thought I'd share this one with you all. I'm not a "penny" collector but put this together with the help of a Capital Holder. It's a five coin set that I did using three dates. Thought that would be cool. Large and Flying Eagle are both 1857, Indian and Wheat are 1909 while the Memorial is 1959. Hope you like it. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0006.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0007.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0008.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0009.jpg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x275/clembo1872/scan0010-4.jpg For those putting together a type set this is one way to do it if using Capital Holders. Other holders are easier to work with believe me but I like the Capitals.
Wow, nice! Is that 1909 Lincoln MS? Those are all some nice looking cents you got there man! :thumb: Phoenix
Yes the 09 Lincoln is MS and there is still a lot of red left. The 09 Indian IS red. Scanner doesn't quite get it.
Those are beauts!! That would be an interesting way to collect as well. The nice thing about it is that there is a limited number of "holes" you have to fill! Are Capital Holders "air tight"? I went to their site, but can't find a detailed description of exactly how they're made or how they work. I've seen them at coin shows, but have never really "examined" one.
Not air tight and actually kind of difficult to deal with if it's a bigger holder. Plastic screws hold them together. There are two "covers" and the holed insert. Getting them in, lined up and putting it back together can be a bit trying at times. I just like them because they are such nice looking holders. A good way to show off a set or even single coins.
No problem Roto my friend. It was 70 in Ohio today? Tomrorrow a much hotter place may just freeze over. BTW... why would you put pants on that coin? clembo
