Why is someone paying this kind of money for this Jefferson nickel? Maybe I am missing something but i'm pretty sure this is a 30 dollar coin or so. Seller even has a accurate description. http://cgi.ebay.com/1939-S-Rev-of-4...ryZ41088QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I think the bidders really liked the toning, so that's why it went for so much. Not a half bad coin, shame on those spots though. Phoenix
Maybe the winner is taking a gamble. At MS-64, PCGS lists it at $35 - in MS-65, it jumps all the way to $225. Maybe the buyer is hoping the toning really makes it a MS-64.5 ????? Or maybe crack it out and find someone who'll give it a MS-65....
