Antiochos VI elephant 'bottlecap'

    I picked up this serrated coin today of Antiochos VI with an elephant for 20$, is this much considering the amount of dirt/patina? Sometimes I feel I overpay for coins and other times I feel I got a bargain. Other then that I think its a really nice looking coin and the patina does give an antique look to it.

    I agree with the others, nice coin and nice price. There are at least a dozen selling on VCoins right now; yours is no slouch in the looks department and beats them all in the price category.

    I have one of these, but it was from a large group lot, so the price I've noted down for it wouldn't be very meaningful.

    Baktria, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom, Demetrios I Antiketos. Circa 200-185 BC. AE Triple Unit

    27mm, 12.96gm. Attic standard. Head of elephant right, wearing bell around neck / BAΣIΛEΩΣ down right field, ΔHMHTPIOY down left, Kerykeion; monogram to inner left.

    Bopearachchi Série 5C; SNG ANS 209-212 var. (monogram).
