I recently saw this coin on an auction website I was surfing through and thought it was an interesting coin. I think I found some information on the coin shown in this screen shot. Does anyone think this coin is real? Anything look off about it? Maybe the condition it is in? I'm just trying to learn how to spot fakes. The only thing that strikes odd to me is the condition it is in. Thanks for your time and comments!
When trying to assess a coin I haven't seen before, I head to archives to look at other examples, as you did. There is only one and you found it-- that one coin has been sold at least twice in the last ten years. I saw no other examples in ACsearch. I'm suspicious of the coin that is currently for auction and would steer clear. Edited: it matches a reproduction currently for sale on eBay, $14.99.
Makes sense. How can you tell reproductions from real coins? I know rare coins will be faked but how can one tell if it is real or fake? I'm just trying to learn how to tell fakes. Thanks for your time and response @TIF !

Most of the seller's offerings on the eBay TIF provided are Antiquanova replicas but I do not see that one on their site. I note the lack of their mark which Antiquanova places on their real silver coins but not on their potmetal ones. I always felt that their replicas were more accurate the less I knew about the originals. I know more about Roman and find most of their Romans were bad while the Greeks appeared better because I know less.
