Pavlos You pick out the big men. I'll make them brave!

Hey guys, I am in the UK at the moment and I got 2 coins from a person who actually didn't know that much about it. For quite a bargain I got an Ariobarzanes III drachm (nice and well centered) and I got an unknown drachm, he said it is a drachm from Cappadocia but when I first saw it I knew it had to be a drachm of Antiochos. However I don't know if i'm right or not? If it is Antiochos can someone help me identify which Antiochos specifically?

Diameter is 17mm and weight is 3.6g.

Let me know if the pictures are not clear enough, I will make for sure new ones when i'm back home, these pictures are quite dark. Thank you.

When I search on the Phi monogram (visible at bottom of the coin) I get this coin:

But this is an extremely rare Antiochos, son of Seleukos IV, 175-170 BC drachm, I doubt this is my coin. Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

    EDIT:

Or maybe it could be a drachm of Seleukos IV itself?

Only it looks like that on my coin the last 3 letters are "XOY" and not "KOY".

Atleast the obverse looks almost identical:

    EDIT2:

Or maybe an Antiochos III drachm? https://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=270063

I am actually so clueless at the moment, the coins look almost identical to eachother.

I like your coins - sorry I can't help with attributing them, but I sure like looking at them!

You are correct with Antiochus III, it is the same coin as the CNG specimen. Seleucus is ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ, where Antiochus is ANTIOXOY.

FYI I am building a Seleucid identification site, but is still a few months off. So many controls

Great, thank you! Nice start on the website. Seleucid coins are quite underrated while they are actually very interesting, would love to have a Seleucid drachm with an elephant on it.
