Cool! Liberian coins made in Germany at the American Mint! There's a type set just waiting to happen.

I think you've just found my avatar for me!
I have to say, calling this a "coin" is superfluous at best. Obviously isn't for general use and has no purpose other than a fancy form of bullion sold for its novelty value only. All that can be said about it, I think, is that an ounce of silver is an ounce of silver no matter what shape it is, and on behalf of Canada I offer my sincere apologies for this ... thing. But I still plan to use it as my avatar, just to tick you all off.

Who really cares what these mints produce , if your into buying this type of coin/novelty items, and you like them well that's a persons choice. Further more why not have multiple coins of each past President , you can get then in gold ,silver , nickel , plastic, bronze, and put them alongside the multiple quarters of each state that will never be worth more then a quarter. The one good thing that the Canadian mint does is limit the production to 10,000 on some of these and frankly they are a much better investment then a US yearly coin set. I quit buying these sets in 64 and could careless. JFK was a great person for his beliefs and what he stood for but is it necessary to keep sucking money out of everyones pocket to keep their collections going . What is the JFK coin at now 100 or more do we really need another one? What this boils done to is having a choice to buy what a person likes , and if you do not like what is being made well who cares. The Canadian Mint does not give a hoot if you like what they do or not. They still produce some very nice items , and will continue to do so. The Mint is a business like any other business . They are in business to make money , and diversification will keep putting money in the Mints pocket . Having a selection to pick from is not a bad idea. But really I like the older pre 65 coins and back to the ancients, and all these new coins are for people who prefer this type of item. I agree it is a silly looking coin but I would bet it doubles or triples in price within 5 years or less. Dillan
