Lots of random scratches, especially on the buffalo's shoulder and above the knot in the indian's hair.

AU-58. Just a touch of wear on the buffalo’s hip

    Thanks, everybody.
Just curious about it since I don't know how to grade these. Pretty coin, though, and it did not set me back a lot (just 8 euros, or $10).
One of my favourite U.S type coins.

    John Skelton Morgan man!

But! I have to ask (based on another thread), isn't it cleaned/whizzed? I ask this based on the direction of the scratches towards the edge.

It think it's a late die state MS63. The lines you mention are due to the advanced state of the dies.

Likely not scratches, but planchet flaws that did not strike out.

Coins looks UNC to me, but from very worn dies producing a terrible strike.

Guter kauf. Ich habe Neid. :)

MS 62 with lots of die wear, such as surrounding the eye, and a weak strike that failed to eradicate the dings in the planchet - such as the buffalo‘s shoulder.
