Hi my name is Kristen and I have been collecting old coins since I was little but maybe like some coin collectors when ever I go to the grocery store or to a store where I know has the Coinstar machines I check for coins/old coins and I take what ever I can find and back in December 2017 I found $2.50 to $3.00 in pennies in the Coinstar machine and I found $15 Wheat pennies in there and you could tell that it was probably from someone's coin collect or someone died and the person(s) does not want the coins and they took them in to get money in return because there was some BU 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1980 but this coin was in this pile of $2.50 to $3.00 in all Lincoln Wheat and Lincoln Memorial pennies. But my question is this a 1970s Large or Small date, thanks to who might know. And this coin is not for sale.

OK thank you very much and I kind of figure that but I just thought I would double check. Thanks again. Happy coin hunting everyone :).

The 9 has to really curl around as in the photo. They are rare for a reason.

The other markers for the 1970-S small are a weakly struck LIBERTY and the point of the 9 is sharp and not blunt (see photo). But the key marker, that 9 must curl all the way around.
