Extremely Disappointed with PCGS

We're in agreement on the basic concept that the designations existed pre-TPG. But I believe a big part of the reason NGC and PCGS use the different criteria they do use is specifically to get people to submit coins to them. And in that way it is a profit generator. Were it not, they would both use the same.

I also believe that the special designations were originally created as a means of generating profit - but by people wishing to sell coins for more than they were really worth.

Bottom line, special designations are just so much hot air.

I wish seated liberty dimes would have a full head (FH) designation. I hate when they are UNC without a fully struck head.

This. Strike is already factored into the grade! If there's an area of a coin you want to have a strong strike on just look for it yourself. The vast majority of types (even popular ones) that have common areas of weakness don't have special designations for them and people seem to get by just fine.

I'm going to become the authority on 'Full Date' Peace Dollars.
If the date has all 4 digits, it is 'Full Date', and carries a $100 premium.

Granted, that isn't a high standard; however, if your Peace Dollar slabs don't have the 'Full Date' designation then you're holding a piece of 90% silver pOOp and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I certify Peace Dollars as 'Full Date' for $50.00 each.
