I'm gearing up for the FUN show next weekend, and while I'm laid up with a twisted ankle I thought I would go through my Coin World to see if there was anything to add to my want list for the show. I saw one dealer offering all 12 of the district banks series 1976 $2 for $109 plus shipping. This works out to about $9 a bill. My goal is collecting the whole set of 1976 $2, but does that price seem right? Are there certain FRB out there that are harder to find than others? Should I expect to pay about $9 a note for these notes? David
David you currency hound! I mean that in a good way. Full retail on the set is just under $100 but betting you can do better. Here's a list in CHCU. A-A $8.00 B-A $7.00 C-A $6.00 D-A $7.00 E-A $7.00 F-A $6.00 G-A $6.00 H-A $7.00 I-A $12.00 J-A $18.00 K-A $8.00 L-A $6.00 That should help I think. Betting you can pick up some of those $6.00 for $4.00. The toughies will run more - just like coins. Should you find them all I'm sure you can do it for under $109. Good luck and let us know! clembo
clembo is right. they can be found for less, how much less woudl take digging. But if it would only save a few dollars, i might pay the little bit extra just for the sake of being easy. But ... the hunt ... gotta luv the hunt
Is that the going rate? $110? I have 9 of the 12 in CU. Now i kinda want to find the remaining 3 ( C,D,J)
That is way over priced IMHO!! I have additional sets I have put together recently, & would be willing to trade at a major discount to so called book prices. Anything for a forum member!! Just send me a PM. Claw
