Chat sites not experienced in the actual process of successes of coin advertisements or businesses that open in Union,Illinois one day then move to Elk Grove Village Illinois the next, across the state.. No it proves there is no such experience .. get it? But the hungry ones, but the hungry ones.. any better idea if that might be for some reason?
See!! My iPHONE lets me travel to auctions and coin shows.. take a breather.. have some lunch.. I’m going to be showing up in different places too.. now i’ve Learned something.. whoever runs this.. is not aware there is a tracking on it.. Whenever I go to Real Time Reference through my link on this site.. it gives me a visitor chime. And the location it’s coming from.. Union, and Elk Grove Village.. have coin stores and auctions
When an audience can't understand what they write, some people decide that it's a problem with their audience. This often isn't a good recipe for communication. Some people don't really care whether their audience understands them or not. Also not a good recipe.
Ahhh - but there is much you do not know about me I am and always have been a hopeless romantic. You should read some of my poetry sometime But sentiment is not why I use a landline - practicality and dependability is. The calls never break up, at least not on my end, I never have to depend on signal strength, I never have to worry about if I remembered to charge the battery or not, or having the battery wear out as most do, or having the charge run out during a particularly long call, which I have a great many of. And no, nobody needs to tell me of the so called "advantages" of cell phones. I can pretty much guarantee I was suing a mobile phone long before just about anybody else on this forum, and long before most others in the country for that matter. And I was using mobile devices that could access the internet long before cell phones could ever do it. Whenever there was new tech that came out I was usually among the first to have it and use it. Point is, I'm aware of all of it, but have still made the choices I have made.
Regarding the original question, sometimes life happens. I used to post more here, then I got a more demanding job, had two boys, and to top it off I started a doctoral program. Eventually school will stop, but life just continues to add demands. I keep buying coins but basically just throw them in the sdb. I figure I can "play" with them when I retire.

Unfortunately, you don't get to make that choice. In many locations, the ILEC is replacing POTS (Copper) by either fixed wireless or another system (even FTTH). With all of those replacements, the 48v supplied from the CO over the dry copper wires is now replaced by a connection to your household electrical system. ILEC - Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (i.e. the phone company) POTS - Plain Old Telephone Service FTTH - Fiber to the Home CO - Central Office Dry Copper - the technical name for the pair of wires (which you used to be able to rent even if you didn't buy phone service). Back in the day you could rent pairs to two locations served by the same CO and pay a fee to have them bridged. Poof. Copper wire connection from point A to point B with no middleman.
Yep, and it still seems like a shame to me. I don't think any future system we get will be as reliable as properly-maintained Bell System copper infrastructure. But we don't get to keep that infrastructure, and that's that. On the other hand, good luck running simple low-res video over copper infrastructure, never mind multiple 4k streams.
I understand your concern. For me personally, I have left instructions with my family that if something should happen to me they should send a message to certain individuals who will post and inform the community of my fate.
A lot of us stopped posting here because we got sick of a couple moderators that try and beat people over the head to get people to agree. One also lets his political anger dictate it but who would name names cough cough. Anyway I broke my rule to not post here anymore from a heads up and just wanted to say check other sites, MANY former posters are there
Please explain to me how that's any different than some unnamed members who pour out Koolaid by the tanker load !
@wcoins, I would like to build some of those personal relationships as you speak. I was one of the people inquiring about @cpm9ball and a member here found out that his computer was bad. I guess it's more my fault for not taking my limited interactions here to the next level but it's something that I think the whole world needs a little more of. We would all end up better people.
Several points here so bear with me. Folks who have hearing aids frequently can not use a cell phone because they hear nothing but crickets instead of voices. Those folks sometimes buy one anyway so that they can text. I don't. If you have an internet friend ask them by private message for their address so that you can send them something they want for free. You are out a coin on this site and you gain an address.
Regarding the original post, sometimes people just need to walk away from something "cold turkey" for a while. I've done that several times in my 62+ years. Anyone can speculate why they haven't heard from someone in a while and usually their assumptions as to the reason(s) is/are probably wrong.
It's ironic that you have such a low opinion of cell phones, find them unnecessary, hate them, don't want one, consider them just a toy - yet in an emergency you will rely on everyone who has one to come to your rescue. Not being critical, just an observation.
Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now !!! (Don't blame me, blame Dylan - he wasn't awarded the Nobel Prize for nothing !).
I love them when my daughter is out of country. She seems to be always getting up when I'm going to bed. Can text and leave messages. And track her. Works great. She's in country now. Yeah
