I bought a large lot of coins the other day and as an "extra" there was about $50 FV in unsearched Wheat Cents and Nickels from the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s. Since I am not a CRH, I am going to cash them in at the bank tomorrow. Hopefully there is a CRH that comes in after me as it will surely make their day!
I looked in a few of the ends. None UNC. Rolls are marked so the coins have been looked at before but the original owner could not spell "plain" so he may have overlooked a rarity mixed in.
Fingers crossed you're depositing them in my town. OR shipping them to a bank in my town to be deposited
The pessimist in me xxxxxx... I will say that the wrappers are cool, but too bad they are marked with a pen. Don't remember any yellow wrappers. Also, I never had one with a bank name on it. The dates listed on the nickel rolls are all common ones. But... at face value, I'd hope to get them.
These observations stood out to me as well. What tellers do when they get excess coin rolls is they just empty them out into bags and ship them off with the wrappers being disposed of in a waste receptacle/recycle bin. If they weren't written on like they have been I'd recommend to save at least a few of them as they are cool and they are vintage. The light colored yellowish wrappers were common up into the '60's; it looks like one of them contains coins from 1970.
