I believe this sums up my view as well. I do not go out looking for poor coins but when the coin is not realistically likely to be added to my collection in the reasonable future, I choose holding the possible coin to lamenting the one that will not be.

Same here, this particular version of Galba's quinarius issue is pretty uncommon, and it just happened to come up for sale at what I thought was a reasonable price for it's condition (around $100 less than one just like it in similar condition which is being offered on vcoins). Could I have gotten a more common silver Galba denarius in aVF or VF for around the same I paid for it? Sure! But the more common Galba denarius will still be somewhat readily found for about the same price a year from now, this particular type of quinarius probably not so much.

That's why I went this route. I'll probably get my Galba denarius eventually, but I have no regrets about getting a rarer coin of his that I may not have probably ever purchased otherwise, and done so now when I had the chance to snap it up at a good price even if it is in a condition I normally don't go for.
