I really despise the quarter design for my home state, the surrender at Saratoga, NY. I wonder what the runners-up looked like? My favorite is either Grand Canyon, AZ or Hawaii Volcanoes. Lots of other beauties as well.
My favorite just happens to be the Hawaii Volcanoes of which I have a PF70DCAM of and it is just fun to look at under bright lights. The worst is (sorry Iowa) Effigy Mounds. That one looks like cow patties laying around and should have been beaten out by an ear of corn with a bite taken out of it.
Best: Ozark Riverways (hands down) Worst: Either: Hot Springs Or: Perry's Victory (both complete yawnfests)
I don't really have a personal dis-like of any of the ATB's. They are very "busy" coin reverses for sure. But IMHO, overall much better than many of the state quarters. My worst there would have been Wyoming. Talk about bland. I'm sure they could have done better.
Not really, all of the potential designs for the WY state quarter were pretty much just variations on the same theme.
For me they are all tied. That means they all are the best ... and all are the worst. I guess you can figure out that I'm not much interested in the modern Mint output.
Hot Springs and Great Sand Dunes for the worst (a number of others are not far behind, though). Best, IDK... have to think, there are about 10-12 I like a lot.
Worst are Effigy Mounds and Mt. Rushmore. Hot Springs is not bad, Mt. Hood is boring. There are many great designs in this series (ATB) hard to pick. Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Hawaii Volcanoes, Great Smoky Mountains, Everglades, Kisatchie, Bombay Hook, Teddy Roosevelt, I might agree on Ozark Riverways. I haven't gotten any past Pictured Rocks, so no comments on the newest ones.
Lot's of good one, a few bad ones. Best: Mount Rushmore Worst: Effigy Mounds. Honorable mention: Arches, Hawaii Volcanos, White Mountains, Mount Hood, Glacier, Chaco Culture.
