1888 error coin but 7 is OVER the 8! Can not find anything on it.

Impossible for the 7 to be on top of the 8.

Everything about this coin says it's a fake.

 

It is a counterfeit.

So if the OP already sent it to PCGS for certification (post # 10), what will it state on the slab or will they even slab it?

 

They won't slab it. They put it in a flip and stick a label to that that says, "counterfeit."

You should peruse that Chinese website for forgeries. I guess they've put a lot of time in creating fakes of about any coin imaginable there.

I always go there to see what I can learn about fakes of a particular coin before I attempt to purchase anything.

found this on Alibaba a counterfeit coin - with exactly the same characteristics as mine. Gonna save myself the $125 to authenticate the coin and will go out to a nice dinner instead.

Yes. I was told in another thread not to propagate aliexpress website.
But you can nearly find any coin there in very authentic copies. Amazing the details they have right now using real coins as the initial cast. I used that website to look at Peace Dollars and learned how to identify the current crop of Peace fakes.
