This one's about ready to go in the cull jar. Worn and coated with a heavy patina. Exergue nearly off the flan. Can anyone tell by style what mint might have produced this one?

I am not an ancients guy and being the family coin guy, this found it's way to me. Not much more detail than yours but it appears to be the same piece. Perhaps you can make out some of the script on mine and see if it helps you.

Tough one. Heraclea, Cyzicus , and Nicomedia can be hard to tell apart but I'd guess it's most likely Cyzicus

    Edit: or Nicomedia

    Edit: or Heraclea.....

I can't help with the OP coin. On Randy A's holed coin I'm seeing SMKB in the exergue; so second officina of the Cyzicus mint is my vote, but not sure if it transfers to the OP coin. If @randygeki can't ID it, I'm not sure anyone can.

I am so not an ancients guy...... My scientific observation was that the obverse profile appeared a match to my worn out eyes.

He has done this on several threads today. It has been reported and hopefully all of his content will be deleted.

Lars, this is a family friendly site with a lot of minors who visit it often. Please keep your posts clean.

Yes--same emperor (Constantius II) and same reverse type. Yours is from the Cyzicus mint; unclear where mine was struck, though.

I can at least say with more certainty that it’s not any of the other 15 mints (that I didn’t list).

Thanks so much, @randygeki ! That helps narrow it down.
