Great coin. I have a similar looking Randall hoard specimen on my radar hoping it stays available for another month or two while I get my housing situation sorted out and stabilized so I can grab it. Some gorgeous coins came out of that hoard, it was amazing for type collectors to get their hands on great pieces for a reasonable cost. I'm guessing before that hoard affordable examples of the type weren't all that appealing. edit: my favorite US coin is also a large cent from a few decades later:
Nice coin OP. I had no doubt about the MS. There is the hit in the field and a little face chatter. But it looks better than 62 to me. I would be closer to 64. (And I grade tight.) If Heritage submitted that coin for grading, it's about 100% it comes back higher than 62. On the 1855, is this the "slanted 5's" variety? Those 5's are awesome.
@TypeCoin971793 - You were a subtle influence on me! Look what's coming my way in a swap. Sealed the deal this morning. (Had to part with two of my nice world coppers to get it.)
