Cleaning question

    So I'm cleaning my new batch and ran into the rust gold area

    Any clue what it is?

    Can it be removed without hurting the patina?

    I wanted to ask before I did something that might damage the coin.

    I think that may be the patina...? I don't have enough experience to say...

    Honestly cleaning Romans is far from easy.... I learned my lesson. Many things come up not addressed in guides like mineral (white) deposits, sand etc. Its a constantly evolving work.

    yep - just go slow.. patience is your friend... see what you can uncover...slowly.
    Here is one of my larger bronzes with a gold look to it... terrible photo.. but an awesome looking coin in hand. (for the grade). I love it!
