Is it just me or.....

    does it seem that copper Lincolns have a bolder strike than Zincolns? True or not true and why please

    I believe it was a reduction in minting pressure due to the weakness of the copper shell over the zinc.

    Some of the "high relief" was removed in 1969.

    It's not that they have a bolder strike - it's that over the years, the master has been redesigned a few times. The mint is trying to prolong the life of the dies, and so the relief has been lowered. You can find very well struck coins from recent years, but the details will be different because the coin has been remastered.

    If you compare nickels, dimes, quarters.... all of them show the same lowering of relief.
