    I know it's a pretty old penny, but does it look like something is going on with the rim?

    I really don't know how to explain it, that's why I posted the pic to as. It's not evenly around the coin.

    Why do I find it disturbing that a 1975 cent is described as being "pretty old"?

    Nothing unusual. Just an old, worn cent. Probably has some dirt other "corruption" (as my Dad used to say when describing dirty, grimy metal in the shop) on the surface.

    Seriously, I was “minted” in 1975 and don’t think I’m that old ;-)

    I was minted pre-1975 also ....
    last I heard, the 90s is the new 20s !! so I'm must be a teenager or so now !!

    It's just when someone describes something that is much younger than you are as being "pretty old".....
