I'm completing a circulated wheat cent collection and my mental debate it whether to buy it or not. If it is raw like all of the others, I run the risk of counterfeit, and if it is legit and certified i'll pass out from the price tag and is it even worth it. I would not even think of buying a 1909-s VDB unless it was slabbed. This is a case of not being penny wise and pound foolish, IMHO.
I agree with @Santinidollar ! Get yourself a slabbed one. I can't afford one right now but some day I will have one. I truly think that's the way to go unless you are an expert at being able to detect counterfeits.
Yeah thatll be a while, I'm a teenager making 8 bucks an hour and I have more pressing bills to pay. So the S VDB is out of my scope for a while
