    We don't need a higher grading scale. Because I fear that in the future there will be dealers out there who will say that an MS70 or a proof 70 coin is not perfect according to the "new grading scale." Just leave the grading scale alone.

    If I could just get to the point where I'm sure that what I'm seeing is on the coin, and not a "floater". :watching:

    then we can send all of our existing slabbed coins in for regrading.

    What a conspiracy to increase revenue. Create a new standard.

    But this is a 69.59. That one is only 68.99. This one is only $100 more, but well worth it.

    Isn't CAC based on the premise that PCGS and NGC are inconsistent?

    How long before a CAC+ service is created - that is, a service that validates the grade on a CAC certified coin?

    BTW, changing the Sheldon scale would probably trigger my exit from the hobby.
    I don't think coin collecting needs anymore of a priesthood to bless our offerings.

    I know this is a 68.99 because of the certification stickers on the slab.
    After all, over 500 certification authorities cannot be wrong.

    Here's the truth - every slab, sticker, or any other accoutrement is based on EXACTLY ONE IDEA - "I'm the only one who knows what he's talking about." This isn't, but COULD be, our hobby's official mantra.

    Would anyone be upset if they added W.01 through W.99 as levels below Poor 01?
    W = Worst

    Let's get all the lowballs resubmitted as well...

    Which is why EASILY about 75%+ of my best coins are RAW. I don't give Jack Squat what ANYONE thinks their grades are, other than me.

    I've put raw coins INTO plastic, I've cracked others OUT, and I've even done BOTH on occasion. I keep 'em guessing.

    Right now I'm using the grading services as a learning tool.
    It has been helpful to study other's opinions of a given piece.

    But yeah, I'd like to eventually purchase some really nice coins and not have them graded - confident in my ability to grade them.
