    I can't help but believe at that magnification level even the most perfect coin would show some sort of imperfection.

    aka Crud (a technical term). A fungus among us, perhaps? Andromeda Strain? Bronze Disease? Oxides of copper? Crappola? The creeping crud.

    so no one sees that spine like in the middle of the 9? And the corrosion on the side and inside of the nine I believe it's because it did not get played it correctly because of the offset.

    All the numerals and the date are like that a correct stamp date would be a lot thinner and sharper this is twice the thickness at least.

    Lol it does I'm 30 years old but my eyes are still bright and sharp sorry if some of you can't see it bifocals might be suggested

    the first 9 looks like a small date and the second one is wider and bigger

    you sure. I compared it to other 1998 d pennies and the other's have 9's that are the same size. Focus in on the space inside of the 9
