It's still letting me put 10 in my cart. I guess it could still sell out, but I think the flippers aren't going to prosper on this one.

I'm emptying my cart, though. Flipping is all I would've considered doing with them, because I hate reverse proofs.

The lowest BIN price on eBay is only $10 above the Mint price, with free shipping.

I'm waiting for the "pre" PF70 sets to show up on the bay.

You can bet HSN is ready to get them off to ANACS to peddle them on TV for who knows what price.:yack:

Aye or nay? Will they "sell out", pending returns and cancellations, today?

IMO these will not sell out today or tomorrow. There's way too many, 200k and the 10 per household ordering limit will further prevent a sell out. Anyone who wants a set will be able to buy one.

200K is still way less than last year's Enhanced Uncirculated set, and that one sold out.

They don’t have to mint a jillion of them. But a reasonable limit along with the first-day household limit should insure that any collector can get one at the issue price. And that’s the way it should be unless the Mint pictures itself as a manufacturer for the big dealers and the TV turds.

This should be the standard: any reasonably attentive collector should always be able to get one. Two did not make that standard -the Truman and Eisenhower C&C sets. I did get a Truman at launch and finally snagged an Eisenhower for a small "vig". I also got the very last FDR C&C set the Philly Mint had. They took the one out of the showcase. "Last Strike"?

They were "Sold Out" until a large dealer cancelled a big order. The sets were back in stock for a while after that and finally the US Mint stopped selling them with a filnal sales number of around 210k about 15k less than the orignally planned mintage of 225k.

The 2017 Enhanced Uncircualted Sets are currently going for abut 30 dollars give or take a few dollars on eBay.

Don't get me wrong I bought about 5 sets of the EU coins and 3 of the reverse proof sets. However, I buy to collect not to make a profit. If the sets go up in value I'm just as happy if they stayed the same or go down. However, it's a lot more fun to collect when the value goes up like the 5 Silver Eagle set that came out in 2011.

Leave it to another potential flip to bring me back to the boards :)
The US Mint really is making a lot of modern key-dates for the future, just think of how amazing something like this set would have been only 10 years ago. Now we look at them with a certain air of disdain because we are getting used to these crazy low mintage figures. These should be fun to have in the future at the very least.

Next one? A San Francisco ASE PROOF, which is being sold alone and not part of another set, which IS being released on opening day of the ANA show.

For you? Why not? I'm going to be "in search of" two exhibiting medals. I especially like my "gold" medal which is edge-printed .999 silver. It's gold plated, just like Olympic medals are.

The US Mint website has these as No Mintage Limit. Not like last year's Congratulations set ASE or the Limited Edition Silver set with the S mint mark for a combined 125k limit for the ASE.

Ooh, good. No limit. There will be very many fewer that way. I do expect an ANA show release souvenir label though.

Well, you can render me unimpressed. What they need is big flashy pics, and a heading like this:

    2018 REVERSE PROOF SET! L@@K!!!

They'd have to add 226 of them.
