How do you think Dansco will handle trhe additional DC and territories to the state coin 2 album set?
The Dansco quarter albums come in several types, but all have pages with 20 holes per page. #7146 (State Quarter date set 1999-2008) is a 5/8" album with 3 pages. It should have 10 unused holes, which would be enough to add the new territorial quarters. However, it can accomodate a 4th page. #7143 (P&D 1999-2008) is a 7/8" binder with 5 pages. It can accomodate a 6th page (I've tried it and it fits). The following are 7/8" binders with 5 pages. You could get one more page, but accomodating all 4 varieties for 6 new coins would require 2 pages, so this will require either replacing the binder or adding a second album for the territorial coins. #8143 - P,D,S,S 1999-2003 #8144 - P,D,S,S 2004-2008
I'm not sure about this particular series, but all my Danscos (7 total) have room for extra pages. I might suggest that you consider just buying a blank page (if they sell them) and go from there.
I just heard from Dansco, and they told me that they will make a descision this summer wheather to add pages or make a whole new album for the territories.
Dansco are wacko. They still do not have holes for satin mint set coins. Do not count on them being "on the ball".
I've heard nothing about DC and the territories for several months. Is it still going to be done? 2009 is coming up fast and the Mint has to do 6 coins, not 5. And of course we'll have the Lincolns too.
Yes they WILL be done because the law requires them to be made. The designs have already been approved for most of them. There is some debate over one of them because the Territorial governor rejected the "approved" design.
