After 49 years, its hard to believe this coin came from the big spare change can my wife had be saving. I went through these 30 lbs of coins yesterday, and while cherrypicking 2006 and 2007 cents for rolls, this baby showed up. First I noticed, the color was a bit different, and when I turned it over was amazed at the date 1959! There are a few very minor contact marks on the front, the reverse is perfect markfree with the sharpest strike Ive ever seen on a memorial. Amazing detail on the columns and lincolns statue. From spare change to a PCGS slab and my registry collection! *NICE!*

 Id settle for a 66! if they grade it a 67 Im sure wifey will want to sell it and buy something dumb like new kitchen cabinets, flooring, stove, refrigerator etc etc.

Wow, very stunning! I am not sure what PCGS will grade it, but I don't see it having any problem going a MS-66, might have a decent chance at being a 67 IMO. But I could be wrong. If you are doing it for your registry set, then I guess send it to PCGS, but you are more likely to get a more accurate grade at NGC. But, that is only a matter of opinion, others probably feel and think differently. Never the less, stunning coin. :thumb:

I'd grade it 65 or 66 RD. Nice coin regardless of grade. Crazy to think this coin, now 49 years old survived like that!

    Nice!
The closest older coin like that I found was a 1964-D Cent, which would grade about MS62, or less.

    but great find :)

WOW, now that's one sweet find! Let us know how it comes back from the grading asylum. BTW, is that doubling I see (in the 1959 and the O in ONE and CA in AMERICA) or is it some kind of reflection?

This is a nice coin, I have found a few 60's and 1 55 like this in rolls but not in pocket change.
These pic are not the best but that all I got.

I wonder how many of these super nice decades old coins that pop up in circulation are the result of some kid getting into dads mint sets.....and buying a candy bar!

I'd call it a 64/65 RD. Depends on how much they would factor the marks on Lincoln's face. It is very difficult to get earlier circulation Lincolns into PCGS MS-67 holders.
