hold the coins by the edge only. you just put finger prints on these coins having them in your hand like that. not being mean just educated you.

Welcome to “CT” and thank you for your share, just like yourself, I am on a hunt for the same coin. These guys who comment on your page, how do I say this... have also gone through what you and I are going through right now and may have accepted that the small date 1982 d in copper is one of a kind. If you persist on finding one, like myself, still... dont be dead ended or discouraged, for they say what they say for they are who we will be learning from in this coin community. For no matter what or which coin we seek, what we all have in common is that we all see coins, and that is what CT is all about. I wish you the best of luck on finding the coins you seek, and if you do not have one available, invest in a scale, so you can separare the lincolns and the “zincoln” (montcollector), and lastly, there are 8 different varieties of 1982 pennies made out of zinc and copper. Cheers and happy hunting.

Thank you very much for your words of encouragement it seems like everyone on here is nice and welcoming. I will continue the hunt as you said I only recently got into penny search and at first it was all about the money. Now it’s more exciting than anything.. I can’t wait to find my first rare coin.. thank you again.
