Yours look to be similar widths in the spacing. I've pulled 4 or 5 wide rims out of circulation and have never had an issue telling the difference. With yours I am.
You need to look at the spacing between the rim and the numbers. Yours look the same to me. Maybe someone else will chime in and agree/disagree with me. EDIT: Here are 4 wide rims that I found awhile back. Notice how close the rims are to the numbers. Yours isn't that close.
This is why we need to STOP calling these wide rims. We need to call them near dates. The OP clearly has two different width rims, but no close dates. I know "the hobby" has already had this debate. It's no good to have a debate if you still get the answer wrong. The indisputable evidence is in the OP's second photo.
Yes the near date is the one you want, when the date is closer to the rim. The OP coin is a dollar. Oh the Furry Frog coins are very nice.
