It's all monopoly money anyways....Standing at the BEP the other week looking into a room with something like $115 million sitting around in stacks ready to go and the printers were chugging along...

So that someone doesn't try to spend it. Some of the others are marked SPECIMEN.

If you handed a 7-11 teller a $20 bill with some of the serial blurred out,
what are the chances of it not being accepted?

I read somewhere that ninety-something percent of the notes the BEP prints are replacements for worn-out notes. Who knows...

The designer thought Monopoly Money would be difficult to counterfeit as no Monopoly Money has ever been reproduced.

Can I use my monopoly money at 7-11 ?

Yes, if you are friends with the teller. A friend that worked at the Federal Reserve branch in SLC said that 90% of counterfeit bills accepted in transactions were between people that new each other. The teller takes a fake $20 for a pack of gum, then the two of them split the $19 "profit". That is how counterfeits that are laughable get through the system.

Unless it's the owner and they scrutinize every single coin and currency they get. LOL Otherwise, most low paid employees could probably care less, unless they too are collectors.

Somebody tried to hand me a counterfeit hundred dollar bill work at the other day. I just gave him a look like yeah right, then he said oh I'll pay with my card instead I'll take that back to the bank where I got it. Laughable

That's why it says, "SPECIMEN" on them. Only way you can get that number.
