Hello! Does anyone know anything about a funny looking 1998 P quarter? Like were there any errors or coins stuck through something they weren't suppose to? This coin is super shiny silver not like any other I have and its just strange. I realize some of the weirdness is simply damage from being roughly used, but there is definitely more to it than that. If you take a look at the reverse, it has bubbling or raised parts at the feet/branch area. It gives the appearance that the eagle has long legs!! Then, then entire obverse looks like it has issues other than regular damage. Any info or ideas would be appreciated!
But why is it so brilliantly shiney? And what about the deformed bubbled up eagle legs? There is no damage in that area, the picture is clear, just werid waves rather than than a flat surface. Also where these waves are on the reverse, when I flip the coin over to the obverse, there is no sign of the waves, its only on the reverse
Your Quarter was affected by extreme heat. The clad layer was affected and it bubbled up. You do not have a Mint Error.
