    Hi! Guys,
I have a question about OMM. I understand that the last known year for OMM was in late 50's propably 1956. So, was it possible that we might have OMM again on 1968 since San Francisco began to strike cent again? I believed I read it somewhere that 1980, and 1981 D/S but I believed it was debunked, but there sill a possibility. Right? What are you guys opinions toward this OMM debunked? I appreciates all yours time and input.

Thank you Rick for the link. But, my curiosity was on 1968 where "S" mint began to struck cent again, were there any possibility that we might have OMM again? What are your opinions? "Yes" there are possible? "No" impossible?

No. The mint marks are no longer hand stamped into the dies. I don't see how an OMM would be possible now.

Keep in mind, he's talking about the 68-S lincoln cent .

I read it as "will we ever have the possibility of an OMM again". Maybe I need more caffeine.

If there was one I believe that it would have been found and documented. The possibility exists, but highly unlikely.

In theory, yes it could have happened. So far none have ever been found.

Thank you very much everyone for the inputs. I want to show you guys this, and wanna know your thoughts on it. In theory, "Yes, it could happen". What I think is the mint mark puncheons of that era suffered from defects thats why it caused the die chip to shaped like what is shown in the pictures. But, there are possibility of OMM that haven't been discover yet. So, let me know your opinions on this. I appreciates. 20180718_003442-ccfopt.jpg 20180717_235437-ccfopt.jpg

They obviously worked on the die pretty severely around the date and mintmark. I don't see anything though that would convince me there was an overmintmark.

I agree. Maybe they were just trying to get rid of die damage/tooling marks. I also don't think it looks like a RPM or OMM

I am unable to reference Variety vista right now, but when I looked up the Mintmark styles The S that they show for a 68'
actually has a die gouge from 2 o'clock to 7. It would be interesting to know how many punches were used when making the working dies.
