I found a 1960 penny where the 0 on the date has a straight edge. Was curious if it was rare and if there others like it. 71247D04-E6A2-4C51-899A-E33CC4CE8F32.jpeg

But there arnt any scuff marks or anything around it to make it look damaged. I looked at it through a magnifying glass to make sure

Copper is soft and easily manipulated and the edge of another coin could have hit it just right to make it look this way I have seen a lot like yours. As prez2 said it's damage. Keep looking though.

    Welcome to Cointalk
As stated your coin is damage pmd (post mint damage) not a mint error. JMO

Copper is soft, as was said. Edge of another coin in a bag for instance, could do it. Seen many like that over time. Some almost look like the raised portions were removed and then re-positioned elsewhere on the coin. Keep looking. You'll find many more.

It is more common than you would expect. With the billions of cents around they have suffered damage in almost every conceivable way.

Stick around and watch the US Cent threads.

you'll see many maligned numbers, in addition to many "T"s that look like "Y"s much less tons of other misc damage looking letter/numbers.
