Looks like post mint damage to me. It is worth 10¢. Welcome to CoinTalk!

First off, welcome to the site! There is a treasure trove of knowledge here and you will surely learn something if you stick around.

As for that dime, it has value but I wouldn't call it "valuable". It's worth face value, or 10 cents in this case.

What you are seeing is simply a coin that was damaged in circulation after it left the mint. Is there any specific detail that you are curious about? What makes you think it may be potentially valuable?

IMHO it looks like it took a hit and metal was pushed up. I'm nowhere close to being an expert so wait for other opinions. A lot of knowledgeable people on this site so stick around.

Its heavily circulated and the area would be post mint damage,IMO Jim

Since this is clad coinage, it could be a bubble between the layers.

    Heat damage..
Extreme heat exposure will affect the clad layer. Not a mint error.

Welcome to CT. It looks like a beach find coin. The salt water reacts to the metal and will give it a milky look, but that's just me going by previous beach finds
