I'd bet if you showed that coin to 100 people who couldn't care less about coins, upwards of 90% would say it's in nice shape. Unfortunately, this highlights the difference between what coin people and the rest of the world sees. If you like the coin, Houston; do keep it. There's nothing wrong with collecting for enjoyment first.
How bout this one i think thr detail in older coins sre better than the new coins. N thanks im just startin got a couple 1800s i havent put up yet i will when the time comes god bless n thanks for helping.
The "detail" is indeed (generally) better on "older"'coins and for good reason. Simply compare a type presently in production with a version of the same from, say, 30-40 years ago and you'll see that newer coins are struck in significantly lower relief.
Hello Houston? We got a problem........ Or maybe not. Older coins were struck in higher relief, and still retain some of that quality to this day. If you plucked that 'baby' from the 'wild' then bully for you. I ain't seen hide nor happenstance of such an example in my pocket change for a month of Sundays......
