Don't you hate that some of these collectors have to always give you a negative rub cuz its not theirs. Only their coins are the exciting ones.
What is your problem? I have nothing against the OP or the coin in question. It is the microscopic analogy of every minute detail on every coin that every poster, not just the OP is going ga-ga over. You can look at any coin with a microscope and find flaws. It's pointless.
As a variety collector, I start with the classification ( class 1-8 ) . I love finding change find, is it for what the doubling looks like ? No . It's all about the class to me ...
I admire your enthusiasm as I still get that same fervor often times. The excitement of the hunt is what keeps me looking. But, on this coin, those lips look like the MD I come across on Kennedy Halves all the time.
Hey some of us this is the closest we'll get to a doubled die. Shame on you. You can learn from rick.
Coneca list on their varieties, the class of doubling . http://varietyvista.com/ So does Coppercoins . http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/date.php Wexler site doesn't list the class of doubling . But he does have literature on classes . http://doubleddie.com/58222.html
