Years ago I had 2 of the prestige silver mint sets, but life made me let them go, for a profit at least. Getting back into coins, I'll be collecting them again.
Anyone else love the book look and coins or is it just me? Lol Just wondering what other coin guys think.

I, in fact, just purchased all four of them (not at the same time) off Ebay sellers. I do like the look of them. What I didn't like, is they modified the design half way through the four year run. Nonetheless, I got them relatively cheap on Ebay.

You can probably get them for a lot less than what I paid for them back in the day..........yeah, I like the look too, and no regrets for what I bought. :)

Must be a different set. The ones I like are proofs and ran from 83 to late 97. Like to see what u got tho. :)

Yeah, sorry, I cut off my thought. I meant I just purchased the "last" four sets. I like the sets and the first couple with the clips were pretty cool, but then they changed it. Nonetheless, I like the set.

I thought they were cool too and bought two from my local coin store some years back. As my collecting interests have shifted, I have only kept one of the two. Last I checked, prices are lower now than several years back. So you should be able to buy most for cheaper now.

2 of the 4 I want are under 30 each. Figured it's a good place to start considering my other interest are walkers, seated libs, standing libs, and cap&bust.

I liked them, never bought any though. I always liked the Premier Silver proof sets too. Another group of sets that most people never paid any attention to. Mintages about a third that of the silver proof sets at a cost of $16 more, today most of them are just a few dollars more than the regular silver sets.

With the prestige sets, only the dollar coin is silver. But by themselves they are usually valued at close to the price of the entire set.

Yeah I bought a few for the silver dollars and the commemorative half. The other coins look nice too but aren't worth anything.
