See this angle also. Collar edge visible thru the cud. Must have dripped before the strike. No heat mark on obverse.
I had the wrong spot, but now seeing it edge on, it looks more like a solder glob than ever. The latest obverse shot is too overexposed.
Normally a true cud would cause a disruption on the obverse rim, and I can't see that one way or the other. Take a look at your 1980 cent example and see what I mean.
Again I refer to the collar struck through the cud. Also the serrated edge is wider in the cud area. LCD verified for me
Local coin dealer. A quick visit to Cuds on Coins shows this type of cud to be very common. Doesn’t show to the opposite side unless larger. The collar left it’s mark.
