The end of 2007 is upon us. I for one am glad its almost over. 2007 for me was a horrible year that resulted in the sale of my most treasured coins. Yes, hard times had fallen on my wife and I and the only asset that was available to liquidate were the coins that I had accumulated over the last few years. Oh yes it stung to have to part with my treasures, but I took solace in the fact that I had them to save us the poor house. Actually I rationalized it as a blessing that I had them at all to enjoy, if just for a moment. Thing are getting better, but it will be some time before I can spend the kind of money I had before on my love of collecting. I find some enjoyment in collecting the Statehood and the Presidential series, face value and all. It gives me a chance to pick the best BU grades and I can afford that. However I can't wait to get back to my collecting the old silver proof sets, Merc. dimes and BU year sets, 1950 and older. Since I'll be almost starting over I feel strong about my ability to be more successful, in the long run, then ever. E-bay is out. A few years ago I started buying on e-bay with great success, but today I notice it is a scary way to try and obtain quality coins. To many rip offs and out right crap. I did the Teletrade and purchased some nice things but paid to much with fees and all. Today my plan is to go to shows and find the BU and proof coins I desire there where I can see them up close and personal. God Bless everyone here at CoinTalk. May the new year bring you the treasures you most desire!!!!
Thanks, Walter ! Sorry to hear about the difficulties. Sounds like you have an excellent attitude about dealing with them. BEST WISHES in the near future ! God bless you, too. And everyone here on CT. May 2008 be the best year of your life.
