This afternoon I noticed Peter had homepage-featured The Orangeburg Story, which I had begun last weekend and dragged out, shaggy-dog style, through the rest of the week. Surprisingly, it seemed to have been popular. I'm flattered.

So who wants The Sharpsburg Story, then?

Like the fictionalized Orangeburg Story, The Sharpsburg Story deals with buried treasure found in the South (on a very small scale, anyway). But the Sharpsburg Story is true and will not be fictionalized. It will be a first-person account from someone who was there.

    Interested? :)

The only Sharpsburg I know is in Maryland. It is know for the Civil War Battle of Antietam. The only buried treasure are relics from the war but it's illegal to dig them. :)

Yes, that Sharpsburg is much better known.

Sharpsburg, GA had a population of 341 as of the 2010 census.

Our story takes place on Halloween of 2002.

There was likely a great deal of activity around Sharpsburg (GA) during the Civil War, since it lies southwest of Atlanta, but we will not be dealing with a Civil War story this time around.

Once upon a time, in the tiny little hamlet of Sharpsburg, Georgia, there lived a gentleman who went by the colorful name of Blue Cole.

As a matter of fact, he lives there still, and is running for mayor in 2018. He is also an author.
