Certainly not a phenomenal acquisition. I love the history that lives in my coins. Went to my dealers place to pick up some stuff he had picked up for me and saw this piece in his case. Ten bucks later and I now own a little slice of history that had been on my mind for some time.

I like that! If I ever saw one for sale, I'd totally snag it for $10.

When you turn the lights out, does the Merc blink? When I was a high school "model UN" geek, we went to a conference where Oak Ridge High participated. We asked the girls into dark rooms to see if they glowed. :troll:

Totally cool Randy! For ten bucks I'd have it in my hand before you could blink. I've yet to see one in my area.

I like those things. Been contemplating trying to get as many different dates as I can find. They come with four different variations of the plastic ring around the coin (And a fifth variety in a large plastic holder from I believe the 1964 Worlds fair). At the Central States show this year I picked up one in it's original die cut cardboard holder. The holder is 4 inches wide by 9 inches high.

I think it's funny that I go see my dealer and drop four bills.... And the coin that has my interest is the ten buck piece.

Pretty sure they have a shot for that now-a-days.

I first saw these about a year ago. Passed on it, because I was like "$10 for a dime? Nah." Now I wish I grabbed it. It may have even been less than that, like $5-$7. Of course, soon after I started looking at them and they were over $10.

Actually looking out for @Randy Abercrombie ... don't want him to pay extra for the 110Ag or the 108Ag when he can buy the lighter 109 or 107 stuff...
