Wow. I bet they looked great before they were AT'ed. Some sucker will probably buy it thinking it's natural "rainbow toning."
If anyone knows where I can snag one of those holders, in black, lemme know. My supplier has been out for years. By the way, if they stay in that low price range, I'll buy it and use my Eastman Kodak dip on the ones I want.
You can buy them directly from Capital Plastics for $35, Wizard Coin Supply has them at $32, Jakes Marketplace has it at $31.
I just went looking for the holder I didn't try ordering it. So it is possible they may be out of stock but they don't indicate that on the website.
From the listing on eBay: "He is now in his 80's and recalls taking about 40 years to put this set together. He painstakingly searched for rainbow toned proofs and hand picked the best to put this set together." Somebody's pantalones son en fuego. These were gassed, plain and simple.
My dad's all-time favorite cliché was "The entire difference between rape and intercourse is salesmanship."
I almost spit out my coffee reading that part. Just picturing 1. anyone spending 40 years painstakingly putting together a set of Franklins 2. That same person being in his 80s and targeting "rainbow toned" ones 3. None of those are rainbow toned and finally 4. Those are hideous he sure wasn't very selective over those 4 decades
"I can rebuild them, better than they are." "Better?" "Cleaner, whiter, more original." The Six Million Dollar Coins. "Da-na-na-naaaaaa." Pan to shots of me running toward the camera in slo-mo, with cheesy sound effects.
