The Ikes I ordered should arrive at my bank today...Time will tell! I have a coffee card ready for the head teller if she holds up her end of the bargain :)

I imagine someone will be upset when they discover their roll of nickels is missing from their dresser drawer...Good find, RG!

I have 3 teenage kids at home, and I leave literally thousands of half dollars lying around the house most days. Thankfully, my kids know better than to mess with my coins. My kids know I would quickly discover why my coin deposits were significantly lower from week to week if they were snagging coin from my piles/rolls/bags :)

Teller tray score! Only one teller working, (I know she keeps the good stuff). But she said she had a bunch of Halfs. $12, but she said there was no silver. I took them anyway, b/c I like to spend them. Then as we were finishing, another teller opened up, and the first teller went to lunch. I also know the 2nd teller, and asked for her odd stuff. She had a bunch of twos (which I also like to spend) and a large Dollar. A 1900-o to be precise!!!!!!!!

Haven't scored an actual silver dollar from a teller in a few years.

...also, the $12 that "had no silver" actually had a '67

Yes, I bought me a lotto ticket later.

The story of my Ike dollar order continues: this evening I stopped at the bank where my Ikes should have been waiting. My favorite head teller announced she had good news and bad news. The good news was 1000 Ikes arrived at the bank in a bag today. The bad news was she is required to count them to confirm the correct number of coins arrived, waaaah!

She said she’s off work tomorrow, but she’ll have the 500 I ordered ready Friday by noon. I told her I would buy the entire 1000, but she said she felt obligated to call a couple other customers who tend to ask for Ikes and let them know she had some for them if they were willing to pick them up soon. I told her I’ll bring $1000 in on Friday and left it at that. We’ll see!

Bummer @berto ! Anytime a savvy teller gets to count the coins first, you know he/she will snipe out any silver. I drove through the commercial window the other day and asked to buy the halves from the coin machine. The Window Teller told me there was $8 in it. I asked if I could buy the bag anyways. But when the Head Teller (aka Head Silver Sniper) opened up the machine, she pulled the coins out of the bag to “count them”. She was doing this below the level of the window so I could not see what she was actually doing with the coins. Next thing I’m told that the machine was off and there was only $5 in it which is BS as that machine was spot on the last 2 times I bought a half dollar bag. I’m sure there was 6 silver halves in that bag that got sniped! My mistake was not going inside where I could watch what she was doing, next time I will.

Searched through 220 rolls of pennies, 70 rolls of nickels, and 6 rolls of dimes with a friend. We also found pennies from 1919, 1920, and 1926 but I gave them to my friend since I already have them. Also found a penny that had f you carved into it.

I also found a penny from 1953 and 1939 but they're road rashed so I didn't take pictures.

Also there was a 1943 penny but I gave that away too since I already have 2 of them.

@TexAg, this head teller has handed me 40%ers mixed with Cu-Ni in the past, so I doubt she will silver snipe the large dollars. BUT, there is a silver sniping teller at this bank branch, so if he gets wind of the large dollars I guarantee he will swoop in and remove any and all silver before I lay hands on my order...He's a %$*#@!

Oh well, my objective includes more than silver Ikes. I have a Dansco I am trying to complete and I still need several Cu-Ni business strikes and proofs :)

Looked through 2 boxes of halves with no silver. However, I found 90 NIFCs, all 2004-2010, in one box!

Yes as of this week my skunk streak ended, even though I only pulled 2 more pieces of silver from 4 boxes , so 1 out of three boxes had silver for the end of this week. Wishing you all the best of luck, Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and you all score some silver!

The saga of my Ike order continues: My favorite head teller just called me with an update...Bottomline: I won't be able to pick up my Ikes until at least Monday, and maybe as late as Wednesday.

Apparently, Loomis obtained 1,000 Ikes from the other local coin vault. Loomis also obtained $1,000 in halves. When Loomis delivered the Ikes to my bank, they mistakenly left the receipt for the halves instead of the receipt for the Ikes. On top of this, Loomis failed to deliver the halves to my bank! Now the other local coin vault's balance and Loomis' balance are off by $1,000. As a result, before I can pickup my Ikes I must wait for Loomis to deliver the receipt for the Ikes to my bank, and return the $1,000 in halves to the other local coin vault so all the books balance.

I told the teller I appreciated her great communication and professionalism. I will be patient.
