Thanks for clarifying that you misread my statements. I struggle sometimes to communicate my ideas in an absorbable manner. Getting beyond your efforts to make this an “us vs you” thing (not exactly sure who we are in your statement...), what I am saying is that there is a way to deliver critical information without being critical to that person. If everyone strived just a little harder to be more respectful to newcomers, they might be more apt to stay.

What I am hearing from you is “I’m not going to change me, so I expect you to change you or leave this forum”. Frankly, I find that sort of logic self-serving and hypocritical.

@Maxfli did you notice the lettering put in bold and all caps? For those who have not gone through an Internet or text communications etiquette course, all caps means you are yelling. It was a bit over the top and could’ve been delivered in a more stomachable manner.

What some people like @C-B-D and @Pickin and Grinin seem to miss is that what works for you does not work for everyone (see Dunning Kruger effect). Though getting torn down and “rebuilt” may work for some, it does not work for others and causes them to shut down and turn off. Communication is the responsibility of both parties. You can’t verbally slap someone in the face and expect them to smile and thank you afterwards.
