There IS NO reputable source that charges as little as $5 plus shipping. If it’s that low, it’s a fly-by-night scam.

The article says nothing of the sort that the OP believes it says. Every line of the article describes a well known particular issued coin, not any kind of circulation find.

You should post these (using a new thread). It would be really interesting to see examples where the consensus of opinions on here were incorrect. You must have had something very unique. Please post these so the rest of can learn from it.

BTW: If the majority of opinions were strongly worded and were wrong, feel free to gloat a little (in a non-confrontational way;)).

I second @Oldhoopster’s suggestion. I’m very interested in seeing your coin @Krd046.

It was one of the 1909 Matte Proof Cents which are not. I don't care WHAT fly-by-night TPG says it was or wasn't. It ISN'T one.

    For your "entertainment", (as if...)

Thanks for the link, Kurt. Now I’d really like to see the coin in its TPG holder. @Krd046?

No, i had just joined, i search wheaties and have a 09 matte that was criticized by many meaning maybe 6 or so on here. then one other time i was criticized for asking a question about a grade and people just are ugly at times so thats why i commented.

What do you expect. He has 3 Phd's in English Grammar. Or, maybe he's just a coin dealer for 31+ years. I always get it confused. ;)

So someone on the street ask for directions in an uneducated way and is going to slam them for the way they spell or talk. you guys suck!!

What you don't see though, is here there is a constant bombardment of asking for directions. Then, many reject those directions and mock the people offering directions. Many come here to get affirmation of misguided information and don't get it.

Then you add in all sorts of variables. Responses that were supposed to be lighthearted but read in different ways, or written in different ways. ie, a bad brain to reply typing interpretation.

And then there's many of what you state too.

Members come in and go in providing responses as they need a break. We have threads talking about just this.

CT is good at jumping on people who claim to have something extremely unusual without having the facts to back it up, particularly if they haven't demonstrated a high degree of credibility. Probably not the best thing to do, but when you have someone new claiming one thing and years of expertise and collecting knowledge saying something else, it's going to happen

The best thing is to show the facts. If your cent is in in a reputable TPG holder as Matte Proof, post it and gloat. We were wrong. But in your earlier post in this thread, it sounded like you had some hard facts ("ive been told by many that my coin wasnt what i thought it was but HMMM, TPG GRADED differently"). Until you post those hard facts, it's still just your opinion. It's easy to figure who knows what they're talking about on CT, and I'll choose to believe their responses before someone who keeps saying "it has to be XXXX" without providing the proof.

Why bother? too many puffed up chests and ego's here. i would probably be told they see the grade as something other than the TPG set it at or some crap im out now please someone adjust my speeling thank yu
