Still going thru the bag of world coins. The Trinidad is bronze, very shiny, tho the pic doesnt show it. Was part of a set so never meant for circulation, and a mintage of 127k. Way cool. 20180709_224003.jpg 20180709_224027.jpg

I show a mintage of 10 million for this coin.
Maybe some more information about the set would help me.
It just looks like a circulated cent.

Sure, ya had to pop my balloon. Lol. According to numista, this is the only coin for 73. If u found it elsewhere, that s cool.

Don't know where you got that 127K mintage figure from (I don't see it on Numista or on NGC/Krause). The ones from mint sets are the Franklin Mint issues (1971-FM, issued in matte uncirculated and proof). A 1971-FM proof is shown on the Numista page. The 1973 appears to have been issued only as a regular business strike for circulation, which is obviously what you have there.

@Michael K is correct- the mintage was 10 million, and this is just a circulated example.

Keep on huntin', though! You'll score a cherrypick sooner or later!

Even after decades of plucking through bulk lots, I still sometimes fool myself in ways like this, and momentarily think I've scored a good one, only to find out I was looking it up wrong. Happens all the time.

The important thing is to keep looking! :)

Et to bruta? That's what I get for looking at so many when I'm tired. Oh well, still going in a 2by. :)

OP's coin is from the Royal Mint, mintage of 10 million.

Numista also shows a non-circulating FM commemorative set from 1973. There were 127,000 of these, but the coin pictured isn't it. Still an interesting coin, though.

I still do not see the 1973-FM set listed on Numista, at least not on the page I linked to. (Not that it's relevant to the coin in the OP.)

Is it on another page? I shall go look for a third time.

Your link is to the description of his coin.

Click on this Numista page. The third one down is the FM commem of 127,000. The reverse is a slightly different design, which I suppose is why it's listed as a different issue.

I realize this is a 1972 and not a 1973, but it is a proof so you have something to compare yours with.

Krause gives the above coin a value of $0.50 ?

Thanks. When I was looking it up, I was tired and looked at way too many. Lol
