Cam someone tell me whats going on with this peace dollar it looks like a bubble above her forehead and it goes all the way to the rim behind her head but you can't really feel a bubble..
A dab of silver polish, maybe? (1) NOTES ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1: Just kidding.
funny. I was thinking a pool of cleaning liquid myself. Does that circle have any damage? Looks like it but could just be the dark-soft lighting.
Hey both of y'all may be right. I got six of these a couple day's ago and that one was the only one with issues and i was wondering if it may have been polished cause it was shining a bit more than the rest but i didnt really know that polish would do that but it very well may be the problem..i really appreciate everyone's help..ive done all the test as far as weighing, magnetic, size and they all passed so maybe that one will stay in my junk silver for when it goes up like so many have said at the end of 2018 ..i have gained knowledge again today thanks guys.
Looking at the hair, it looks like it has "broken strands" of hair. So maybe it got scribed around in a circle for some reason. Then someone polished the scribing mark and the rest of the coin to match.
From the title of this thread, I thought we'd discuss the possibility of a Peace dollar price bubble -- in anticipation of the coin's 100th anniversary in 2021.
Yup. I'm sure an inspection of the edge of the coin might reveal more. but probably a jewelry pendant piece now that I see that too.
You'll want to learn to identify a polished coin because they lose a great deal of value when polished and there are tons of them out there.
